My Sweet Pussycat
I have four cats sharing my home now and it sometimes feels like a hundred. My little super action kitty, Milo, gets a lot of attention because he’s always somewhere he shouldn’t be, doing something he shouldn’t be doing. My sweet kitten, Petra, gets less press but she certainly is just as loveable and adorable.
I never thought of a cat as masculine or feminine before but Petra is definitely feminine. She’s a petite little thing, sweet and dainty most of the time. She is covered with soft grey and white fur and with her little pink collar is truly a little doll. When she reclines, she frequently crosses her front paws one over the other and looks oh so girlish.
Petra shows her feminine side in her play as well. She has two purple fuzzy balls that are like her kittens. She likes to carry them around the house in her mouth and deposit them in various places. She’ll drop them in a shoe, in the sink and one of my favorites, under my bedcovers. She leaves me a purple ball in my bed generally a couple times a week. Sometimes after I close my bedroom door at night one of her balls will come flying under the door. I think maybe it’s her way of saying goodnight.
My cats vary in vocalizations quite a lot and Petra has the sweetest voice. My oldest male, Scottie, meows quite a lot and quite loudly. Milo mostly chirps because the more trouble he’s in, the happier he is. Ripley is either silent or howling, no in between. But Petra? Petra squeaks. She squeaks when she gets up on the fireplace mantel and is unsure how to get down. She squeaks when she sees birds outside the window and gets excited. She squeaks whenever she’s feeling a little stressed.
My cats differ in their attention needs but Petra is the easiest. Scottie wants attention all the time. He would sleep on top of me poking my face with his paw all night if I’d let him. Milo plays hard but in the evenings he’s ready to relax and sit on my lap. Or I should say he sits on my lap with his paws on my chest staring at my face. I watch TV and pet Milo and anytime I look away from Milo for more than a few seconds he jumps up and head-butts me in the face. It certainly keeps me alert! Ripley mostly relaxes by herself but when she wants attention she will scratch at doors or climb over anyone or anything between us so she can plop her chubby body over my shoulder or on my lap. Petra is pretty much her own kitty. She rarely seeks me out but will sometimes sit near my feet on the ottoman with her paws crossed, of course.
So when does Petra get her pets and cuddles? Petra loves walk-by loving. If I’m in the kitchen she’ll jump up to a counter for a pet or if I’m sitting in a chair she’ll stroll by. When I pet her she turns into a pussy-pillbug. She hunches her back and flips over on her back. She loves to curl up and writhe around while being petted. And she loves a good belly rub. It’s fun to pet and tickle her just to watch her gyrations.
I so look forward to going home every night after work to play with all my sweet kitties. I can count on Milo to be standing in the window as I walk to the front door and Petra running to greet me with her little happy gyrations ready to go.

Such a couple of cuties, those little ones!
Those cats are so adorable. Look forward to seeing again.
After reading the comments on your adorable cats, how could you forget to mention the one that jumped from the mantle on to the top of my head while watching TV, and how they love hitching a free ride on the self cleaning sweeper. Loved that one! They are adorable and can’t wait to see the little rascals again.
